Be A Light

On this celebration of the Feast of the Epiphany, I taught my 3rd grade Faith Formation class about being a light in the world.  Jesus was sent by The Father to be the light for the world and we, too can be a light by sharing Jesus’s teachings.

My students seemed slightly unfazed by this – just like any teacher anywhere – I had limited time to discuss this in greater detail. The Magi followed the bright light of the star to Jesus Christ. Without knowing it, all children are a light: you follow them and you’ll find a gift.

“Darkness can only be scattered by light. Hatred can only be conquered by love.”

Saint John Paul II
