“Because God did not make death, nor does he rejoice in the destruction of the living.” Wisdom 1:13
There is suffering in the world. Fires claim lives. People kill and abuse. Cancer runs rampant. Children starve. Storms rage. Bad things happen to good people.
We all have our share of suffering – no one is free from it.
Jesus never promised us freedom from suffering, what he promises us is His presence with us in our suffering…What He promised us is the hope of Easter Sunday and that death doesn’t have the final word. -Chris Stefanick, Suffering-Real Life Catholic
We are free to Hope in the promise of eternity with God. We are free to find Joy in the life we live here on earth. The Lord can bring about a greater good in our suffering.
“But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one.” 2 Thessalonians 3:3
When I hear about suffering, or experience it, I hold my babies close and hope and delight with joy in the life I’m living.
