As the inauguration of a new president was happening in Washington D.C., I observed people going about their daily routine. I listened to the the swearing in of a new president on the radio.
It is easy to take for granted the wonderful country in which we live. I know it has its flaws. No one and nothing is perfect. Today, however, I thought about how fortunate we are to live in these United States of America. The president is not the only person who matters here – we make up this place – there will always be HOPE.
God Bless America.
“Give me Wisdom, the consort at your throne, and do not reject me from among your children, for I am your servant, the child of your maidservant, a man weak and short-lived and lacking in comprehension of judgment and of laws. Indeed, though one be perfect among mortals, if Wisdom, who comes from you, be lacking, that one will count for nothing.” –Wisdom 9:4-6
*A variation of Book of Wisdom Chapter 9 was read at the Inaugural Address by Cardinal Timothy Dolan as a opening prayer.
