We are all familiar with today’s Gospel reading where the two Mary’s found that Jesus was not in the tomb for “he ha[d] been raised just as he said (Matthew 28:6).” It is a reading that we cannot forget; however, today’s 2nd reading is what caught my attention:
Think of what is above, not of what is on earth.
For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
When Christ your life appears,
then you too will appear with him in glory. Colossians 3:2-4
All too often there is a tendency to focus on the things we have or the goings on here on earth. Jesus died for us and we have new life with Him because of His sacrifice. There is much Hope in being Easter people. By His “cross and resurrection” He has set us free. Alleluia!
