The Mother of All Mothers

Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.” Luke 1:38

Mother Mary is the mother of all mothers.  When the Lord spoke, she listened. Everyday I hope to be a better mom – more understanding, patient, loving.  I pray I can teach my children about God’s love, not only by my words but through my actions.  On this Mother’s Day I celebrate my mother who said yes to the Lord’s calling and gift of motherhood.  I celebrate, too, my grandmothers, mother-in-law and all of the mothers I know. The gift of motherhood may have its difficulties, but we have Mary to look to as the ultimate example of motherhood.   Canticle of Mary
