Saint Charles Lwanga and Companions

This Saintly Saturday is the feast day of Saint Charles Lwanga and his 21 companions martyred in 1886 in Uganda.  They were burned to death when they refused to submit to immoral acts.  Saint Charles, the patron saint of youth and Catholic Action (specifically in tropical Africa), encouraged and instructed his fellow prisoners in the Catholic faith.  He was a teacher and a witness to Christian living.

The kids and I took a day trip to Freeport.  We visited a few aunts and uncles on the way.  To top off a good day, Riley popped out Ayla’s front tooth!
